Our little Arctic explorers have been bursting with curiosity as we explored what makes the winter season so special.
Together, we talked about chilly weather, frosty mornings, and how we keep ourselves warm by wrapping up in cosy hats, scarves, gloves, and snow suits. The children loved discussing their own winter clothing, building their understanding of the world around them while developing their communication and language skills.
Imaginative play has taken us on some incredible icy adventures! From trekking across “snowy” landscapes to pretending to camp out in the Arctic, the children used their creativity to bring winter scenes to life. Using maps to guide our explorations, they learned about direction, location, and different environments, sparking early geographical awareness in a fun and engaging way. 🗺️
Through hands-on activities and sensory experiences, the children discovered more about cold climates, icy textures, and how animals and people adapt to winter conditions. These rich learning opportunities encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, and confidence, all while nurturing their natural sense of wonder.
At The Abbey Nursery, we love creating meaningful learning experiences that combine imagination, exploration, and seasonal discovery. It’s been a week filled with excitement, exploration, and plenty of wintery fun! 🧤✨
