We enjoyed a fantastic large‑group science activity today, centred around the fascinating world of magnets. The children were fully immersed as they each had a turn using the large magnets, exploring how they worked and discovering what they could attract and connect. With great concentration, they tested a variety of objects, eagerly observing which items were magnetic and which were not. Their expressions of surprise and excitement made the activity even more rewarding to watch.

After experimenting with the resources provided, we extended our investigation by exploring the room together. The children enthusiastically searched for other magnetic objects in their environment, making thoughtful predictions before testing their ideas. They shared their observations with one another, building on each other’s discoveries and demonstrating wonderful teamwork and curiosity.

The learning didn’t stop there. During tea time, we overheard several children excitedly chatting about magnets and wondering what magnetic items they might find at home. It was lovely to see them continuing the conversation independently, showing just how much the activity had captured their interest. Their natural curiosity and enthusiasm were clear, and it was wonderful to see them carrying their learning beyond the activity and into their everyday experiences.
