This week, all of our rooms have been busy celebrating Storytelling Week with an inspiring variety of story‑based activities, tuff trays and imaginative play opportunities.
The children have had a wonderful time exploring and bringing to life some much‑loved books, including The Gruffalo, That’s Not My… stories, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and a selection of traditional nursery rhymes.
Each room set up inviting, story‑themed play experiences designed to spark curiosity and encourage the children to engage with books in new and exciting ways.
Through sensory play, role play, small‑world scenes and creative tasks, the children were able to dive deeper into their favourite stories and characters.
They explored different textures inspired by woodland adventures, searched for creatures in small‑world set‑ups, counted “caterpillar food”, and even acted out stories together — gaining confidence, developing language, and using their imagination to create story ideas of their own.
