Frequently Asked Questions
You can register your child by completing our Registration Form and then connecting with our team. We’ll work with you to arrange settling‑in sessions tailored to your child and your family’s needs, ensuring a calm and confident start.
Children can join us from 6 weeks right through to Pre‑School age. We offer both part‑time and full‑time places, depending on availability and what works best for your family.
Most children follow a three‑visit settling process, adapted to their emotional needs. Parents are welcome to stay initially and we build separation gradually so your child feels safe and confident in their new environment.
Please provide spare clothes, nappies/wipes (if needed), weather‑appropriate clothing and any comforters they rely on. We supply meals, snacks and all learning materials.
Comfortable, weather‑appropriate clothing is best, along with shoes suitable for active play. We recommend items that are easy for children to manage independently. Please also provide spare clothes in case of messy play or accidents.
While we take great care during activities, clothing may occasionally get marked through play, outdoor exploration or creative experiences, so we advise avoiding special or delicate items.
A typical day offers a balance of play‑based learning, outdoor exploration, group time, meals and free‑flow activities. Daily routines vary by age group and you’ll find full details in your Welcome Pack so you always feel informed and confident about your child’s day.

Yes. We work closely with families to support toilet training in a consistent and positive way. Our approach follows your child’s readiness and your routines at home to ensure a calm, encouraging experience.
You’ll receive daily feedback from a member of our team, and your child’s Key Worker is always available if you need additional updates. You’re also welcome to contact the nursery during the day if you’d like to check in or pass on a message. You’ll receive regular progress information, development reports, and opportunities to meet face to face at our parent’s evenings.
A Key Worker is a dedicated member of our team who builds a warm, professional relationship with your child and family. They support your child’s daily routines, monitor their development and act as your main point of contact. As your child moves into new rooms, their Key Worker will change so they always have someone closely connected to their daily experiences and stage of development.
Only the adults you have authorised on your child’s registration form can collect them. If someone different needs to collect your child, please let us know in advance and provide a password for security. We will never release a child to anyone who is not authorised.
You can speak to your Key Worker or a member of the Management Team at any time. We also provide suggestion boxes, have clear written procedures and offer regular opportunities for you to share your views.
We follow the EYFS and use Learning Journeys, observations and development records to plan each child’s next steps. Parents receive regular updates and are encouraged to share their own observations from home, helping us build a complete picture of your child’s learning and development.
We use a warm, needs‑led approach to help children understand their feelings and develop positive behaviour. Our team supports co‑regulation, models calm communication and helps children learn skills such as turn‑taking, problem‑solving and managing big emotions. We work closely with families to ensure consistency between home and nursery.
Our SENCO, Group SENCO and trained staff work closely with families and external professionals to provide tailored support. Every child is included in daily routines, activities and experiences, with adaptations made to ensure they can participate confidently and meaningfully.
We support transitions and school readiness through gradual room moves, tailored school‑readiness activities and strong relationships with local schools. When your child leaves us, you’ll receive a transition document and a full development record to share with their new setting, helping ensure a confident and seamless start to school.
Yes. Our in‑house chef prepares nutritious meals and we work closely with families to meet all dietary requirements, including allergies and intolerances.
We keep children safe by having a trained Safeguarding Lead in every nursery and by following robust policies for child protection, health and safety, first aid, supervision and secure access. These procedures are fully embedded in our daily practice to ensure a consistently safe environment for every child.
We only take or use photos of children when we have written permission from parents or carers. These images are mainly used for learning records and internal updates. We never share photos on social media without explicit consent, and you can update your permissions at any time by speaking to a member of the team.
If your child becomes unwell during the day, we’ll contact you straight away so you can collect them. Until you arrive, our team will make sure they are comforted and closely supervised. We follow clear health guidelines to protect the wellbeing of all children in our care.
Children should stay at home if they are unwell, have a contagious illness or are unable to participate comfortably in nursery activities. We follow NHS guidance for exclusion periods and our team can advise you if you’re ever unsure.
We understand that delays can happen. Please call the nursery as soon as you can so we can plan appropriate supervision and make any necessary adjustments, such as meal arrangements. Additional charges may apply depending on the length of the delay and your session times.
We offer government‑funded places for all eligible children aged 9 months, 2, 3 and 4 years. Our team can talk you through how funding works and help you understand your entitlement. You can also find clear, up‑to‑date information about funded hours on the official government website.
