At The Abbey Children’s Nursery, creativity has been in full swing this week as our little artists explored the fascinating world of mini beasts! From colourful butterflies and busy bees to wriggly worms and shiny beetles, the children have been discovering these tiny creatures in fun and imaginative ways.
Using a variety of tools—including paintbrushes, sponges, and even their fingers—children have brought their ideas to life through vibrant artwork. This hands-on experience not only sparked their creativity but also encouraged sensory exploration, fine motor development, and confidence in self-expression.
Our practitioners supported the children through conversation and gentle guidance, helping them observe details such as patterns, colours, and movement. These rich interactions allowed children to link their artwork to the natural world around them, deepening their understanding while having plenty of fun.
