Last week at nursery, we celebrated the end of our butterfly life cycle journey with a very special butterfly release. Over the past few weeks, the children have been fascinated watching the incredible transformation take place — from tiny caterpillars, to hanging chrysalises, and finally into beautiful butterflies ready to spread their wings.

The children showed so much curiosity, patience, and care throughout the whole experience, checking on them each day and eagerly noticing every little change. It was a wonderful opportunity for hands-on learning, helping the children understand nature, growth, and the life cycle in a fun and memorable way.

Our butterfly release day was filled with excitement and big smiles as the children carefully watched the butterflies flutter into the world for the very first time. There were lots of happy waves goodbye as they flew away into the sunshine. Two of the butterflies were even given the adorable names “Butter” and “Butty” 😊

It was such a lovely moment for everyone involved and a fantastic learning experience that the children will remember for a long time. A week full of wonder, laughter, and magical memories at nursery 🦋
