Our Early Learner Room at The Stables Nursery had an amazing time exploring the Arctic today!

The children were fully immersed in a world of ice, snow and imagination as they discovered what life is like in one of the coldest places on Earth.

They enjoyed icy sensory trays, where they could touch, scoop and melt frozen objects, sparking curiosity and plenty of discussion about temperature, textures and how ice changes.

The Stables Nursery children also loved engaging in small‑world Arctic play, using animals like polar bears, seals and penguins to act out stories and create their own adventures.

Through this magical winter setup, the children practiced:

  • Language and communication as they talked about what they found
  • Problem‑solving while investigating how to free frozen items
  • Imaginative play as they pretended to be Arctic explorers
  • Understanding the world by learning about cold habitats and the animals that live there

It was a fantastic hands‑on learning experience that encouraged curiosity, creativity and lots of frosty fun.
